BARBADOS SHEEP
At Belmeadow our barbs are raised for breeding stock and to train our dogs with. We offer breeding and "dog broke" stock as well as freezer lamb. Barbados have earned the undeserved reputation of being wild and hard to keep contained. We found with the proper raising that they are anything but and are really quite social.

Barbados sheep are what is known as a "hair" breed of sheep. Instead of wool they have an outer coat of hair. Developed on the island of Barbados, rams can be horned or polled. The ewes are polled, breed any time of the year and usually have 2 or more lambs. Also known as black bellies, they range in colour from light tan to dark mahogany with black markings on their face, legs, chin. chest and of course belly. Please email for an update on available stock.
